Deko Iron Works

We hired Marco to finish our rooftop and install railings. He was recommended by someone who works for our developer. We paid 50% upfront. He started work October 9th and originally told us 3-4 weeks to complete the job. He basically had a kid that looked like he is 15 most of the time working by himself. After a couple of weeks, noone would show up. Marco always had an excuse, "it's raining in Playa, we're working on the railings, we're making the doors", etc. Same excuses for several weeks. I pointed out they had gotten cement all over our new patio and exterior walls were splattered with paint and colors mismatched. He said he would take care of it. We left the country on December 15th for one month. That is when he returned to "finish". He message me around December 20th to let me know everything was almost done and asked for final payment. I told him once he finished and I'd like pictures and asked if he took care of the patio and painting, he said yes. Around December 22nd, said he was done and sent me a few pictures. Asked for payment. I said I was concerned because I couldn't see the job myself and there might be things I'd like addressed. He assured me several times not to worry as he gives a one year warranty and would be working at a couple of other homes in our community through February. He needed the money to go visit his family in Mexico City for Christmas and his dad had just passed away. I was stupid enough to believe him and paid him. When we returned January 15th we found many issues. Railings were warped, sinknhe installed was cracked, pergola wasn't painted properly, tiles on floor were not all grouted, paint still mismatched, exterior walls and patio still splattered with cement and paint, chips all over the existing walls from them apparently banging things into them, etc. I reached out to him. He promised every week he'd come to take care of things, every week, he no showed. This went on for about 5 weeks when I finally told him I was filing a complaint with PROFECO. He didn't care. We had to go to PROFECO in Cancun on April 1st. They scheduled a meeting for July 5th with us and Marco at the PROFECO office. Since he said he offers a warranty, we have to give him the opportunity to come back and fix what he did wrong. I don't think he'll show up so not sure what will happen. Definitely do not recommend Marco Antonio (aka Polo) at Deko Iron works

Why: Work was not properly done, poor quality and extremely messy.
